Erica Haughton is a mother and a Licensed Social Worker; two roles that she holds very dear to her heart, amongst others. Throughout her career, Erica has worked with children and families, older adults and individuals that are terminally ill. Both her personal as well as her professional experiences heavily influence the books that she has created and continue to create.
For a number of years, Erica had a desire t0 publish a children’s book. There was so much worry in her heart, halting her steps toward seeing this dream come to fruition. She has finally gained the courage to simply try. The thought that her book(s) might positively impact one child, pushes her forward. It is her hope that a child, reading one of her books will be able to identify with the characters in some way, while being encouraged and inspired.
Erica, hopes to write stories that uplift children, especially during challenging moments in their lives. She very much, would like children, to learn that it is so important to travel through life, genuinely, accepting who they are, as they are. Various challenges experienced in life can cause children to feel alone, discouraged and with lessened self-confidence. Such challenges may include having a "disability," that may impact them physically, intellectually or emotionally; losing a loved one; feeling inferior due to outward appearance; having difficulty making friends, and so on, Books can open doors to overcoming and healing.
